Matthew Edward Yack

 In Your Loving Memory...

Matthew was born in

Howell, Michigan on

January 20th, 1988 at

6:52 pm

weighing 6 lbs 15 oz

and 20 inches long.

He passed away at

U of M on

April 11th 2003 at 3:39

pm

at the young age of 15.

Matt's eternal flame burns on.

Matthew had a brain

 aneurysm on April 4th

 2003.

After a 6 hour surgery,

 the surgeon told us

that the aneurysm was

 caused

by infection that had

set in the cerebral

 artery causing it to

 burst.

Matt had had

pneumonia in March.

He laid in a coma for a

 week with his brain

 swelling and dying off.

By the end of the week

 he only had 1/8th of

his brain left

with no hope of ever

 waking...

He was taken off life

support on

April 11th 2003,

he passed away

peacefully.

Please light a candle

 & help us keep

  MATT'S MEMORY ALIVE !

 The night that

Matthew

passed away, two dear

friends of ours

Steve and Ann, named

 a  star after him.

Matthew is the brightest

 star in the sky

 At the luncheon (given

by my co-workers) they

 passed out

star pins to everyone in

 the family.

They said that this way

all the family that lived

 in

Michigan, Illinois and

Texas could look up

 and

see him.

I wear my pin

everyday !!

"WE ARE FOREVER CHANGED"

Matt had bright eyes
and an
infectious smile !!!

 Matthew was such a

 good kid and turning

into a fine young man.

 He was a

wonderful person, one

that anyone would be

 proud to call son. He

 always had time

 for anyone and

everyone. Didn't matter

 how old you were 1

 or 100, he had time

for you. Matt loved

 spending time with the

 family which is quite

unique for a 15 yr old.

 Matt was attending

 Howell High School at

 the time of his death.

 He was in

9th grade and also a

 member of

The Men's Varsity Choir.

Matt  thought his choir

teacher Mr.Bushey was

 the best. They allowed

 us to bury Matthew

 in the tux he

wore for concerts.

His choir classmates sang

 his favorite choir song

 "Homeward Bound".

They did an awesome

 job. Matt had been

 proud to be a member

 of the men's choir.

  A scholarship is given

 every spring in

 Matthews honor

to a  Freshman

Men's Varsity Choir
 Student.

January 5th 2007, we

recieved a letter telling

us that the Class of 2006

donated $1000.00 to Matt's

scholarship. We were yet

again overwhelmed

and very thankful

for all that

his classmates have done

for him and continue to do.

Matt really did touch many lives.

 The class of 2006,

 Matthew's class, were

 the first students to be

 at the New

 Howell High School

 Freshmen Campus. At

 the end of the year,

 they painted

a mural on a wall in

 one of the main

 hallways. The painting

 was of  men

fishing in a boat on the

 ocean.

 "Breezing up"

BY: Homer Winslow

All of the students of

the class signed the

mural within the water

and sky.

 They added Matthew's

 name to the back of

the boat in memory of

him.

 Matthew had been

 working for MJR

 Brighton Cinema 16 for

 alittle over a year.

 He had just been

 promoted from

 concession stand to

 usher.

Matt  was a hard

 worker and it showed.

 Matthew's interests

 were, but not limited

 to... music, hunting,

 camping, fishing

and skate boarding. He

 loved going hunting

 with his dad, both bow

and gun.

Squirrel and deer. He

 was quite good at it

 and enjoyed it.

 Matt wanted a skate

 park built in Howell so

 badly. We were

 suppose to take him

to a meeting about

building one, he passed

 away before the

 meeting.

We went for him.

 Matthew's "I AM"

Poem was written in

 english class in

December, we found

it in his bag after his

 funeral. With help from

 friends we had T-Shirts

 made

up with his name, dates

 and a skate board on

 the front and his

"I AM"  poem on the

 back.

 We sold 300 of  them.

 That money along with

 his bank account,

we were able to donate

$2700.00

in his name to help with

 the building of the

 skate park. I think he

would be

proud to know he

 helped give his buddys

 a place to skate.

 At the grand opening,

We were surprized to

 see two large rocks

engraved with

 Matthew and Kyle's

 name, in honor of

them. Kyle Monson was

killed in a car accident the

year before Matt passed

 away.He too was

a skateboarder.

      Matt and Kyle

  will forever be within

 the walls of the skate

 park.

 Final Choir Concert of 2006

The concert was held

 on May 25th, and what

a concert it was. In all

 the years

 of going to concerts, I

have never seen them

do what was done for

Matthew.

The boys choir sang

"Homeward Bound" as

they did at Matts

funeral.

While singing they did a

 slide show of about 25

 pictures of Matt

through the years.

  Then his scholarship

was given.

I don't think there was

a dry eye in the house.

 What a wonderful

memorial

 they did for their

 classmate, our son.

 Matt was truly smiling

 down on all of you.

Nikki went up to

recieve his senior

flower, as they didn't

 even want him to miss

 that. They truly did

 carry Matt through all

 the graduating events.

Our thanks to Mr.

 Bushey and all the

members of the choir.

You have truly touched

 our hearts.

We are proud to call

 Matt our Son.

 Graduation for the

       Class of 2006

Commencements were

at the Howell High

 School Field House on

Sunday  June 4th.

We were invited to

 recieve an honary

 diplomia for Matthew.

When we were called

up, we recieved a

standing ovation.

 What a hard emotional

 day it was for us.

 But we must say that

 we are very honored

 that these kids

carried Matt through

High School and

through graduation.

We know that Matt will

 not be forgotten, ever.

Thank you all for that.

 Matthew touched so

many people in his

short life that we were

 very overwhelmed

at the funeral of almost

         800 people.

  Matthew's "I AM"

 poem can be

 found under his legacy.

           His yearly choir

scholarship ....

  students are listed

 in
his timeline

Matt is loved by many,

Remembered by all...

              Hugs And Kisses

What

would want us all to do...

Remember me whenever you see a sunrise,

Remember me whenever you see a star,

Remember me whenever you see a rainbow

or woods in autumn colors from afar.

Remember me whenever you see the roses

Or seagulls sailing high in a sky of blue.

Remember me whenever you see waves

Shining in the sun.

And remember, I'll be remembering you!

Remember me everytime you light a candle

Never let the memories extinguish

Remember me when the flame brightens a

 room.

And remember, I'll be remembering you!

I'm going to tell you

something

I hope you'll never have

to know

I'll tell you how a heart

can break

And tears can constantly

flow

I lost my baby boy you'll

 see

An Angel in my eyes

God chose to take his

 hand one day

And led him to the skies

But please do not forget

my child

He was a person too

Forever he will live, in the

 land way up above

He's snuggled in an

Angels wings, wrapped in

 his Mommy's love.
